dashing through the towns

Sometimes I over plan my trips - Gosh like no one else does that! I had the three days in London and instead chose to go to Jersey because I had not been there before. so as a result, had bascially no time to spend in London and very little time in Jersey but still glad I did it. Jersey was cool and someplace to return. London is always fun but this time I saw it all from a transport van. ah well. I know I'll always get back to London sometime. just a few minutes this morning before I go to Iceland. Well, at least there I have a week. I have discovered that since I am somewhat an "older traveler" now, that I am NOT out of bed at the crack of dawn and hitting the sidewalk before the morning rush hour has subsided. I am more content to mosey along and look at things more slowly. I'd rather walk around the block than run to the next museum. That said, I don't really do museums much either. A couple of hours at Elizabeth Castle in Jersey was enough for me. I still climb all the stairs although that is getting harder. (good things are always up). I do wander through the museums but usually am in and out the door in very short order. That's one of the rare good things about traveling without my husband. He'll read every museum placard and sign and then remember it later. So usually I'm sitting and waiting until he figures I am about to explode, then he'll give it up and we leave. But I do like museums, just in very short doses. So today I am off to Iceland. didn't get much sleep last night so am looking forward to a good snooze tonight and just a general look around today and then start some tours tomorrow.
