Jersey idyll

The Isle of Jersey is truly a delightful place. My choice to come here was a pretty much last thought kind of deal after I had already made arrangements for Iceland and England. So thought I'd pop over here for a quick overnight rather than spend the time in London trying to see sights I have seen before. I am quite glad I did and just wish I had thought of it before so I could have spent more time here. It has a lot of history but I was only able to see a little bit. The people are delightful, everyone being quite friendly and helpful. I must admit that sometimes I could not understand them because there is apparently a mixture of English/French/Jersey mix that is used and ordinary blokes on the street calling out to each other are totally incomprehensible to me. The view of the sea is just remarkable. This is one of those places where the boats are sitting on mud at low tide and up to 6-9' of water at high tide. Quite funny to go by and see all these lovely boats tiled over and waiting for water. Transportation is good once I figured it out. However sometimes the times between buses are a bit longer than I would have liked, still, I was able to move around quite easily once I figured out the bus stops had larger letters "BUS" on the pavement. So it is with sorrow that I leave after just a bit over 24 hours. another place that it is going to be necessary to return.
